Bro Michael Winstanley

Our thoughts are with the whole salesian family. He will be sadly missed. He introduced me to sudoku at Savio House and I'm now an addict. He was a true Atherton gentleman who was at St. Richards school with John and their families were friends. May he rest in peace.

Michael, you were the gentlest and kindest of brothers. A great blending of fun and faith from personal prayer to throwing orange peel at supper time you brought joy and peace into the lives of so many people. You were in touch with people at a deep level and immersed in nature in your work around Savio House. For decades you carried the vision of what Savio could be and brought your wisdom to its onward growth. You leave behind a wonderful legacy and a network of so many young adults who will miss you very much. I was privileged to live with you for almost two decades and I have learnt so much from you. I wish you rest and peace after a wonderful life and if they have lawn mowers in heaven, I hope you already have the keys.

You will be greatly missed. We Thank God for the wonderful gift of Br. Michael to us as province and as a whole Salesian Family. Prayers and heartfelt condolences to the grieving family and community.
