Barbara was born and raised in a small town, River Herbert, Nova Scotia. You could take the girl off the farm, but not the farm out of the girl. Always the adventurer she left home after high school to work in Halifax. She then joined the Air Force and was stationed in Falconbridge, Ont. She married and moved several times before settling in Victoria, BC to raise her family. In 1982 her heart called her home to Nova Scotia where she lived until 2012 when again she made the trek across the country to be closer to her children and settled in Sechelt, BC.

My condolences go out to the family. I am so sorry too hear of the lost of a dear loved one to this family. Dealing with this situation can be the hardest thing to face. God's word the bible gives heartfelt and true meaning for ones sleeping in death; Revelation 21: 3,4 says: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” God also promises a hope for ones to have life again at John 5: 28,29a : Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out. So sorry to hear of Barbs passing. Its been years since I have seen her, what a nice picture. She looks so much like Aunt Ida, I think more than anyone else in the family. I will always remember her for laughter and fun loving ways. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and hopefully with see everyone in the spring for her celebration of life.

So sorry for your loss. I was working in a dental office in Upper Tantallon, NS, when your mom was moving out west in 2012 & came to say good bye. I always remembered how excited she was & I always felt her sense of adventure. Treasure your memories & do take care of yourselves.
