Born and raised in North London, Barbara was a free-spirited, intelligent, and fiercely independent lady who lived in Colchester, Essex for most of her life. She spent most of her career at a local newspaper as a feature writer, but later became a published author, and a tour guide for her beloved home City of Colchester, where she was well-known locally and would guide people around the Castle and Roman walls.
