Ben Berry

In this space we remember Ben. Ben started his studies at the University of Surrey in 2019 to fulfil his dream of becoming a children’s nurse. Ben was a wonderful student in every respect, academically he was engaged and insightful and put his all into simulation, giving us a glimpse of the nurse he would have become. Ben also fully immersed himself in the student experience, taking on the role of Course rep and so becoming a voice for his cohort. He frequently got in touch with tutors to ask if a certain topic could be covered or if we could help him organise extra learning opportunities that would benefit other students. To Ben’s friends, colleagues and all who knew him he was kind, committed and a source of support. Ben embodied the qualities of a children’s nurse so naturally - kindness, compassion and a sense of humour were always ready to brighten the day of anyone who met him.
