Annie O'Connor

Annie was my philosophy teacher a few years back, she was one of the kindest people I have ever met, she had time for everyone and so much patience. It says a lot about her dedication to teaching just how many people went on to study philosophy at university from my class, including myself. She had a positive impact on so many lives, and she will be missed not only from the education system but from so many people’s lives.

Annie, you always lit up the room with your cheeky sense of humour and your kind heart. I will dearly miss you, we have had so many laughs and chats and lunches together over the past few years you really were such a huge part of many peoples lives in church army. I will especially miss wandering over to your desk to review your newest piece of as you called it ‘tat’. We have many fond memories and you will always be cherished at WCC Becky xx

As a home-based worker the thing I will miss most about Annie was the warmth of the smile and the welcome whenever I walked into the office at WCC and past her desk. There was always time to chat and laugh and she had the ability to cram joy and hilarity into the shortest of conversations. She also brought great wisdom and passion to her work which rubbed off on all of us. I am so thankful to God to have known her.

Some things in this world we will never understand. We trust that God has the bigger picture, one that we cannot fathom. It was a blessing to know this incredible human being. Annie was not only a fabulous tutor but also a caring, witty and very clever person. Her people skills mixed with a quirky sense of humour made her a Joy to be around. To have my lead tutor as a student on my First Aid course should have been daunting but Annie was filled with grace as always and a pleasure to work with! May this Ninja rest in peace and rise in glory. (Those who know will know!)

I didn't know Annie well, but a smile and comment from Annie as I passed by the desk was always a bright spot. I remember well the energy and care she showed when taking on the EiT's in the 2019 Commissioning. We have lost a jewel.

Annie, it was such a privilege to have you as a tutor. You were witty, funny, kind, loving and a joy to be around. Even though I had known you for a short time you will be much missed. Until we meet again my sister in Christ rest in His loving presence.

We will miss Annie so much. Annie brought fun, laughter, mischief and challenge to us all. Her ability to communicate the truths of scripture in meaningful and engaging ways helped those in training to grow in faith and confidence. Annie has gone to be with our Lord but her memories will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her and whose lives were touched by her life

Was great to know Annie as my tutor and personal tutor for 4 years. She was so caring, compassionate, loving , smart, kind, the list can go on. She will be truly missed in Church Army and the training team. Praying for all the O'Connor family and friends, who have lost a true star. praying for you all !!
