Alviar Cohen

I am so sorry to hear the news of Alvair passing. While I did not have the pleasure of meeting him, rarely have I come across someone so brave, so courageous, so eloquent and so gifted and who packed so much in such a short amount of time. I heard of Alvair’s courage at school through my son and his journey moved many of us. We were all praying and willing for a different outcome but what a legacy he has left behind. He did more in 19 years than many of us hope to do in a lifetime and when the final book is written, it will read, Alviar lived, and he made a difference. Rest In Peace Alvair, and my deepest condolences to the Cohen family.

Never have I met someone to this day that is as kind and caring as Alviar. The way he always looked out for others in all scenarios reflected the care he had for the world we live in and the whole of humanity. I have made so many life long memories with Alviar that I will treasure.

Alviar was possibly the most motivated and diligent student that I have ever taught. His book was a delight to mark, he listened attentively in class, was able to recall every detail and his answers in tests and exams were almost flawless. He held himself to such high standards and deserved every success that he achieved. He was also a remarkable and engaging young person who was very humble and incredibly supportive of others. It has been terribly upsetting to see him having to fight his illness, as Alviar would have continued to achieve great things. However, his positivity and resolve are an inspiration to others and he enhanced the lives of almost everyone that he met. Alviar will be sorely missed by staff and students alike. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Alviar was a kind hearted and brave young man. He was a true inspiration to everyone around him. He always had a smile and 'hello' in lessons and around the school. Sending deepest sympathies to the Cohen family.

My deepest condolences to the Cohen family. I sat next to Alviar briefly in year 10 English and although he wasn't always in, when he was, he always brought a smile to my face. He deserved better than the battle he had to face, but he fought bravely and admirably. Rest well Alviar, you will truly be missed x

Alviar was such a kind person, through and through. In the times that we spoke, he naturally made people feel comfortable with his brilliant sense of humour, intelligence and total class! If everyone was was even half as good as Alviar, the world would be a much better place. Such a huge loss, my condolences to the Cohen family. x
