Ernie Montero

January 2, 1959 - December 29, 2020

Ernie was one of the most caring, selfless and knowledgeable people you could ever meet, and he could never do enough for you. His passion for music & sound was evident in all he did, as was his generous and kind nature. He imparted countless amounts of knowledge on colleagues and students alike and his face lit up when he was sharing his pearls of wisdom and seeing people grasp it. A dear friend, colleague and wonderful human being.

I was fortunate to get to know Ernie when I studied a short evening course; I had seen him around the college before and exchanged the usual hello’s and greetings as staff do. Over the weeks of the course we became good friends, his infectious enthusiasm was there for everyone to see and he had a wonderful sense of humour. After the course ended, we would often catch up and he invited me along to a few gigs when he was doing the sound. I will remember him as a big-hearted person who had time for everyone. Rest in Peace my friend.
