I was fortunate to get to know Ernie when I studied a short evening course; I had seen him around the college before and exchanged the usual hello’s and greetings as staff do. Over the weeks of the course we became good friends, his infectious enthusiasm was there for everyone to see and he had a wonderful sense of humour.
After the course ended, we would often catch up and he invited me along to a few gigs when he was doing the sound.
I will remember him as a big-hearted person who had time for everyone. Rest in Peace my friend.
