Mr. McFarlane and I were friends for many years.  He was always positive, supportive, patient, respectful, humorous and no doubt a father figure. He always emphasised  that I focus on the positive in  any situation and would  encourage me with a smile to do better. I recall every afternoon Mr. McFarlane would take me home from work, since we both worked in the same Company and it was mostly on those afternoons that we would have our economic, political and social debates, which he would almost always win, because  of his wide and varied knowledge. I have learnt so much from him and will always cherish those memories. It was a pleasure knowing such a great and wonderful human being. May his soul rest in peace.
