I met Tom over 30 years ago in The Netherlands. As with so many others in his life, we became instant friends! Over the years, we've had the pleasure of spending time together in a handful of other countries, enjoying laughter, spirit, and thoughtful conversations. He has been a driver and catalyst for keeping all manner of friends, family, and colleagues connected; whether it be email, text messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, or even a Zoom Pub Quiz! In many ways, because of Tom, my planet is a village, a good place. I'm grateful to Tom, his kids, and their mom for having added a detour to their 2016 vacation through Canada/US, on their continental crossing. It gave us all a chance to meet for a few hours just north of Toronto. Tom, I miss you dearly. I wish you and your family solace, peace, and happiness again.
