I am incredibly shocked and saddened by the loss of TJ but I want to remember all the joy he brought to me at the office. He was more than just a coworker, he was a dear friend. His kindness and positivity radiated and he never ceased to make me smile. If I was ever struggling to carry something, TJ was there, if I needed someone to talk to, TJ was there, I could always rely on him. These past few weeks are now special to me because I've still been traveling to the office for essential work and TJ was normally the only person there. He brought me a sense of normalcy admidst all the crisis. In return, Deven and I would always cook up an extra breakfast burrito or burger to deliver to TJ during our weekly meal drop offs to first responders. He would light up and was thankful that we thought of him.
I will forever remember surprising him on his birthday. Tears filled his eyes and he hugged and thanked everyone in the room, exclaiming that this was the best job he's ever had. TJ, we will miss you dearly and will forever remember the joy and happiness you brought to the office every day. Rest easy, my friend.
