Tim’s death is going to touch so many people. He was such a kind, positive spirit and a humble man, who did so much for so many, largely behind the scenes and never seeking any attention. I used to tell Tim now and again that I phoned the IOIC just to hear his voice. For the many years I knew him, he always answered the phone in the same friendly and soothing tone that put a smile on my face before he'd even dealt with whatever query I had. We also met at several meetings and events and that’s when I discovered his wonderful sense of humour and fun. He had acres of patience but he was a great observer as well, and he knew how to defuse difficult situations and people. I valued every interaction I had with Tim and am so sad at the loss of a great colleague, a truly special voice of the IOIC. My heart goes out to all his family.
