Stan MacRae

July 25, 1965 - February 14, 2023

Stan joined the RNLI in 1997 and had been an integral part of the Kessock lifeboat community ever since. His long service covered many roles and he was personally involved in the rescues of more than 200 people at sea, including 20 recorded lives saved. He joined the RNLI as a crew member, soon progressing to helm and latterly holding roles as mechanic and launch vehicle driver. Most recently, he has contributed to the station management team with time as operations manager and launch authority. Stan is remembered for his support to trainee crew and extensive knowledge and experience, which he shared generously close to home and farther afield to support lifeboat stations around the country. Stan is survived by his daughter and parents to whom his loss cannot be measured. Fair winds, calm seas, stand easy shipmate, your watch is done.

I'm still coming to terms with the loss. Stan was a great guy with a brilliant sense of humour. I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of his company at many BBQ's and Skiing holidays. Taken from us far to soon. I would like to pass on my condolences to Stans family and friends.
