Hi Grandpa,
I'm writing this as a letter, not as a tribute because I know it's "till we meet again".
I am happy I grew up in the same city as you, many people I know do not have fond memories of thier grand parents as they see them only on special occasions.
I'm happy you used to pick myself and my siblings up after school in your peugeot 504, I'm happy for all the stories you shared, happy for the weekends we spent in your house. Happy for the memories of the suya place in gbagada where we always passed but never stopped and always said " o ta san San".
Glad you were always there with us even if it was to take care of us, to show up on our birthdays and turning up for our University graduations even if it meant you having to travel. Im glad I grew up with you. All I can say is thank you for the care, thank you for the memories and thank you for the laughs you brought in our lives.
Rest on Grandpa, gone but not forgotten.
We miss you.
Always,
Isemho
