I knew Eldryd from the relatively early days of THET in the mid-1990s and he was always very supportive of our link between Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania. I used to regularly meet him at the noncommunicable disease days at the DTM and H in both London and Liverpool and he was always a delight to talk to.
He never lost his enthusiasm for teaching and imparting his wisdom and he always got fantastic feedback from the course attendees. He was such a gentleman and very unassuming considering all his immense achievements. He will be missed.
