I met Edryd through my role as a Fundraiser at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Though I can count on both hands the times I met him, I enjoyed every interaction, particularly him telling me about the book he was writing (I do hope he finished that and that it will be published somewhere). His stories were hilarious, heartwarming and often harrowing. A wonderful man who will be missed by many.
