We at the Edna Adan University Hospital in Hargeisa, Somaliland, are all very saddened to hear of the passing of Sir Eldryd who was my good friend, mentor, and supporter. We wish to extend our sincere Condolences to the family and friends of Sir Eldryd who gave us the privilege to become the very first health facility in Somaliland that THET supported when we opened the hospital in March 2002.  It was also THET that assisted Dr. Ali Sh. Ibrahim and myself when we were asked by our late President Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal to advise him about how to screen, regulate and register the flow of foreign and national health professionals who are returning to Somaliland and applying for jobs.  The recommendations that we provided became the foundation upon which the NHPC of today was founded, and none of it would have been possible without the support and expertise provided by THET. Finally, the treatments that we provide to our sick, and the quality of training that we provide to our health professionals at all levels would never have have been achieved without the external lecturers and examiners provided to us by THET and that of Prof Eldryd Parry in particular. May he Rest in Peace.
