I worked with Simon during my second term as IPCC Commissioner. He certainly had a wily sense of humour and was full of anecdotes and stories from days gone by when he was in the Met. His "can do" approach inspired his colleagues, particularly those who were dealing with some of the most serious incidents we had to deal we for the very first time. His energy and enthusiasm were endearing and I will always be grateful to him for the way he helped me get through several distressing and difficult investigations. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends. Rest in perfect peace, Mr Cousins. I salute you.
