Sheila was always a dear friend and she was particularly supportive during my years as Federation Secretary. Her WI knowledge and experience were invaluable and her enthusiasm never waned, whether you were talking finance, WI Constitution, Denman or craft, her passion shone through. I have lovely memories of being greeted on AGM days at Oxford Town Hall with a huge smile and big hug from Sheila. The day only got better. Thank you for so much Sheila. I shall miss you. Sheila has been a dear neighbour and a good friend to me for the past 26 years. She was always friendly, kind,, calm and practical and has been a great support to me and others in times of crisis - offering sensible and helpful advice and always there with a listening ear. She was interesting to talk to and always independent dignified and self sufficient , even in recent times when she was so poorly. I have kept all the hand made birthday cards she made for my three children over the years and will always remember her at Christmas when I hang the exquisite beaded bauble she made on the tree. She was a brilliant craftswoman and a true asset to the village and I will miss her very much. Rest in peace Sheila and love to Michael and the family who meant so much to you.

I knew Sheila through Michael and being on the Village News committee. She was a delightful person - warm, funny and so interesting. It was a pleasure to have known her and she will be very sadly missed by so many. Frances Peck

As a new WI member Sheila welcomed me into the group, her wonderful smile lit up the room. She was so knowledgeable in all things WI and such a support even when she had resigned from the committee. On a personal level Sheila was so appreciative of the birthday posies she received and always made a point of letting me know how long they lasted! I shall miss, a truly lovely and Inspirational Lady. Mimi Blagrove

Sheila was a very dear friend. Always there for a chat with help and advice when necessary. She was very supportive when my husband Paul died last year phoning regularly and making sure I was ok. Sheila put others first rather than talking about how she felt. Her death has left a very big hole in my life. RIP Sheila

Sheila was one of my closest and dearest friends. She was always there to chat to, to get support and advice from, to exchange opinions on about anything and everything - just always there. She will leave a huge gap in my life and I will miss her tremendously. Ruth Astall

I first met Sheila quite a longtime ago when, as a WI Treasurer, I took the Accounts to her to be audited. She was very thorough, but helpful and encouraging. Later, when I trained as an IFE, we met regularly and I realised just what an expert she was. We had many talks about hobbies and I could see that her attention to detail was reflected in the beautiful handwork she produced. We will all miss her.
