It seems like i have known Satish almost forever, from the anti racist campaigns of the 1970s to the unashamed trouble making over Section 11 funding in the mid eighties which was featured in the Times Ed and changed the funding rules.
Satish was happy to challenge the powers that be, whoever they were. Happy to stand up for simnple basic principles.and i loved him for it. He, and Anu, were also wonderful, generous hosts who provided some of the best food in Leicestershire and always in abundance.
His eightieth birthday party was as ever a sheer joy, made up of the nice, caring people that shared his and Anu's lives.
I am filled with sadness at his loss but also full of happy memories of times together, not least holidaying in the South of France near Frejus and sitting having a sneaky smoke hidden in corners.
Satish was always a joy to be with and the soul of good humour. He will be much missed. There are too few people like him. Love, fond wishes and condolences to Anu, Nakul and Madhu. . .
