Sarah Ford El-Mohandes

May 5, 1991 - April 12, 2021

In this space we remember Sarah. Sarah started her studies at the University of Surrey in 2018 to fulfil her desire of becoming a Paramedic. Sarah was a brilliant student, always ready to offer a contribution regardless of the topic; she was passionate about excellent care for all patients regardless of their circumstances. Sarah had recently taken on the role of Course rep and so becoming a voice for her cohort. She often met with the team to discuss how best to support students with the programme. To Sarah’s friends and colleagues, she will be remembered as a caring, compassionate and thoughtful person. Sarah embodied the virtues of a paramedic – compassionate, bright and with a wicked sense of humour.

Sarah, here it is because I know you’ll be tutting that I haven’t yet. You are the best friend any one could ever wish for. Never will I get used to waking up without a message from you, nor get used to no longer having nocturnal natters, your ‘oi, you awake’. Your daily “guess what”’s. Never will I get used to having to stop myself rushing to tell you something that I know you’ll laugh at, nor get used to having to stop myself from calling you realising you won’t answer. We have so much planned, because you are all about having fun- our holiday, road trips, your 30th week. ‘I don’t know which one to get’ - ‘get both! Treat yo’ self’. You’re as real as real can be, and you make me see things in myself I never believe. You teach me how to look at things differently. You’re always there, whenever I look beside me. Your infectious laugh. My side kick, my hand twin - I’m not me, without you. We put up with each other’s silly thoughts and opinions, we put up with each other full stop. We laugh until we cry, and cry until we laugh. You stand your ground for what you believe in and are the most intelligent person I’ve ever met, always living through your passions. Your honesty, your love and your affection - you’re one of a kind, Tequila Rose, and I love you. See you soon, shadow and dust. Love, always, your ‘little one’ x
