This photograph makes me smile because it was the first time Samaa met my children and they found her enchanting as she had fun with them, as did my parents when they met her and were fascinated by her life story, as did my boyfriend as they played computer games together because they did not share a common language. When I met Samaa I thought we had a connection because we grew up in a similar time and place and shared many cultural and social references. What I realise now from hearing from so many people who loved spending time with her too is that her soul was so big, her interests so varied and her heart so warm that she charmed everyone. I know I am surrounded by people that will miss her dearly. I will take her back to Manchester with me every time I visit. Miss you our kid.
