Words cannot express the loss we feel that you are no more I was lucky to talk to you uncle few days before your bday when you called to thank me for the masks I sent you the typical gentleman you were always so proper which is hard to emulate you would even open the car door for my daughter when you came to pick us up from the airport in Sydney Rohan and I were yours and aunty Inezes adopted sons when yours were in America you fed us you treated us when we were sick and counseled us when needed you .the stories are endless the parties legendary with aunties cooking and your humor and baila then as we grew older and got on in life and you retired we were then your partner in all those conversation and after Rohan passed on many a discussion I had with you on politics and Sri Lanka your knowledge of the mahavamsa the history of ceylon ,traditions went on and on even after you moved to Australia many were the calls to discuss these situations and if I failed to call after a few weeks you would call me to find out if we were ok when I came to Sydney with shenaia before she entered uni in Melbourne you saw as at the airport and didn’t fail to drive to the railway station in your late 80s with aunty to pick us up without fail that was the father in you we were all your extended kids friends of your kids .we so enjoyed having aunty and you with us in Sri Lanka Inspite the competition to keep you since there were somany people who wanted to return aunty and your generosity feeding us when we earned a pittance knowing that we looked forward to aunties sumptuous meals .the stories are endless and your memory will be endless .i still recall when you were in Sri Lanka last you wanted a pair of jeans and I packed you off in a pair of Levi’s jeans the smart 94 year old you were .
Uncle we will sorely miss your laughter and advice and cherish the life you led by example as a husband father and friend .
Aunty Inez Rohan deane Lalin and Suzan and grand kids we hope we can repay what uncle Robert was to all of us by example .
