Robert Slavin

September 17, 1950 - April 24, 2021

Dr. Slavin, affectionately known as Bob to all who worked with him, was fully committed to improving public education one student, one classroom, one school at time, as was demonstrated by his life’s work. In every conversation, in every writing, his passion for the mission of educational reform and evidence based learning was apparent. We have lost a great friend and visionary and the world of education has lost a leader whose impact will continue for decades to come.

It was indeed a great pleasure to have met this amazing, gentle affluent man. He made it so easy to join the best Reading Program ever, Success for All and work for the foundation for 6 or more years. I learned so much about helping our children read and experience comprehension success all over the United States. Dr. Slaving and Dr. Madden afforded me the opportunity to meet educators and children in almost every state and share this amazing program. May the Lord embrace this family and cover them during this loss.
