Professor Jim Dornan - RCSI Bahrain

February 5, 1948 - March 15, 2021

Jim was a hugely valued member of the RCSI Bahrain family and a true pioneer of both clinical and academic developments in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Jim joined RCSI Bahrain in March 2020 as Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Jim’s professionalism, energy, and dignity elevated any occasion. He was a true shining star, always full of life, an excellent teacher, role model and inspiration to us all. Before joining RCSI Bahrain, Jim was a Career Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Royal Maternity Hospital Belfast, Chair Health & Life Sciences University Ulster and former Senior Vice President & International Officer for the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. On behalf of the extended RCSI community, we extend our deepest sympathies to Jim’s wife Samina, his children and grandchildren.

My deepest condolences for Prof.Jim’s family, friends, colleagues and students May peace and comfort finds you during this difficult time. I have met Prof Jim a couple of times before he officially joins RCSI when he used to come to Bahrain as an external examiner. Very humble and respectful person indeed. May his soul rest in peace.
