As a young child staying at my grandparents house, I remember impatiently waiting for the clock to reach 7 am because then I was allowed to go into Pip’s bedroom, and I would go and jump on her to wake her up (she was endlessly patient). Her bedroom room was in the front right hand corner of the house in Chichele Road. I seem to remember it being decorated in olivey green colours. Later I remember asking Pip if she was going to marry John. ‘No’ she said, ‘He’s horrid’ with a twinkle in her eye and a big smile on her face. I think the reason that Pip was such a good mother was because she had had lots of practice with her nephews and nieces. She was always so interested in everyone she spoke to and so encouraging and caring. I miss you Auntie Pip, but we will meet again, with love Rachel xxx
