I first met Pip back in 2009 at Henry's 30th birthday meal. Caroline and I had not long started dating and I remember feeling a bit nervous to meet her family for the first time. Pip made me feel welcome straight away and I was instantly drawn to her personality, kindness and humour. Little did I know back then that she would become my mother-in-law and granny to my children. They say blood is thicker than water but I wholeheartedly disagree. Family is family by default, every other relationship is chosen. Pip was like a 2nd mother to me and was the first person to compliment me on anything and massage my ego. She had a sixth sense in that she would always know what to say and when to say it; even if it was a little word of encouragement, a compliment or just something kind or funny. She was the best mother-in-law I could have ever asked for, and the best granny that has ever lived. Thank you sooooo much for everything you have done for us over the years. You really were the rock and glue of the family. I love you and will miss you so much in person, but you will be with me forever in my heart and mind. Rest in eternal peace, beautiful lady.
