Lynda "Pie" Rutledge Kirby

April 6, 1962 - November 30, 2022

Lynda “Pie” Rutledge Kirby (60) of Lockhart, TX passed away on Wednesday, November 30 after an arduous battle with pancreatic cancer. She died surrounded by her family and lifelong best friend. Pie was born in Dallas, TX on April 6, 1962 to David Rutledge and Nancy Olds Rutledge. She worked for many years as a homebirth midwife, passionately serving women throughout Central Texas. She was known for her tenacity and strength of spirit, her infectious sense of humor, and her loving acceptance for everyone she encountered. She is survived by her children, Cole (Anna) Kirby, and Lacy (Brandon) Jarvis as well as her beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel Kirby and Hattie and Joseph Jarvis. She also leaves behind her mother, Nancy Olds Rutledge, and her brother, Daniel (Martha) Rutledge, along with a large extended family and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her father, David Rutledge, and her brother, John David Rutledge. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 2 pm at Sojourn Heights church in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, please consider following Pie’s tradition of donating to a family in need this holiday season.
