Peter. Really close - no; respected - yes. Footballer - lousy; quiz kid - ok. Scrabble - better than me, begrudgingly; Upwords - upstart! Solving cryptic crossword clues - clever. Hall sense of humour - definitely; funny - sometimes; witty - occasionally. Caring, kind and compassionate - constantly; friendly and helpful - naturally; welcoming, hospitable - ooh! Bacon sarnies. Hair - receeeeding, hereditary; flat cap - obviously! Matter of fact - always; memories - lots. Quiz king of late - never; Palace - forever! Above it all, he was my brother and brother in the Lord and I loved him and will miss him. I thank God for his life!
For an amazing big brother. My memories of my childhood are us sitting around quizzing and playing Bird, Beast. Pete came back from his travels, talking about all of these wierd and wonderful places. And I heard of Upper Volta for the first time and I found out that the capital city was called Ouagadougou. Never forgot that. I've so enjoyed quizzing again with the family throughout 2020.

Peter David Hall - You were always one of my favourite brothers and I have many fond memories of you. I remember your generosity and probably didn't thank you properly for the many kind thing you did for me when I was a child.. You paid for my first pair of "real" glasses when I was 14 and embarrassed and upset about wearing the delightful National Health glasses. When i was 16 I desperately wanted to go on a school skiing trip to Italy but was resigned to not going because Mum and Dad couldn't afford to pay for it. But you paid for me to go and I had a fabulous time. You introduced me to "exotic" food and drink like coffee, yoghurt and dodgy foreign teas. So thank you for that. I remember watching you play lacrosse - An extremely violent game that I never understood the rules of (and still don't). I remember going on a long, long walk over the Seven Sisters at Eastbourne with you. I think i moaned every step of the way and believe that this was where my severe allergy to all forms of exercise began. I don't remember you being angry with me though. The best bits of the whole day were the train journey and the visit to the Wimpy Bar. Finally I would like to thank you for being my brother, I will miss you forever sib5. Love from Shirley Ann (you always called me that)
