My first interaction with Pete G goes back almost 17 years ago when he left me a note asking for details on an Emergency network change. And that when I realised that he needs details and lots of it. Pete G had the knack of being astute leader in whatever responsibilities were given to him and yet be the guy that everyone loved to work with. Always around for management but also equally available to anyone in the Organization across regions. Emphatic to the core, connecting people was his strength. With due respect to all the current and past leaders @ FIL, he was a steady hand at wheel to steer FIL out of many a storms. I have many fond memories with Pete during his multiple visits to India. Striking up conversations with him was never difficult. He had a sense of humour, an avid photographer and loved his coffee and beer. From discussing security topics to shopping for camera lens in HK, I have had the fortune to know him as a person and work with him. Very few come close being diligent and inspiring as Pete does. He was a great mentor and will remain a person I aspire to be. Hope you rest in peace. So long Pete, next time I hold a glass of beer, it most definitely will be in your memory. My heartfelt condolences to the family.
