I've not been sure where to start... Thank you Alan Thomas for letting me know. Alan is my link here: You see, Pete and I shared a house in Wouldham, Kent - these were the Lucas CAV years. We even had a joint mortgage - a kind of marriage some might say, or possibly neighbours thought?! There could never me an easier person to live with. Very fond memories of us 'industry professionals', the four of us - Charlie Holdsworth, Alan, all moving to the same village, just to behave like giddy chuckling children - the most sociable years ever imaginable - we were living our own version of Monty Python. Reading the notes on here reminds and informs me of how Pete was the nicest, most tactful (and brightest) of gentlemen. The photos on this page have updated me on how Pete and Merci have looked so well together since we last met about 20 years ago. My thoughts and strength goes to Pete's family, most recent friends and colleagues who will miss him so much. Take care and think peacefully - the way Pete smiled and chuckled. (btw, something I have told to others on occasion, about the influence of this group of friends, but perhaps not to them themselves. I was a 'lowly' 16-17yo apprentice at CAV when the next intake of 'graduates' started: 1984? - and by some audacious cross-border incursion I eventually befriended this intelligent, witty and humorous genre. I was curious as to where these Monty Pythonesque characters came from - Universities. FFWD to 1993 and I had assembled enough college acumen to get my own place in a University. Their influence unwittingly wrote my future, and I became an (im)mature student at the University of Glasgow . So I would like to thank them, and most especially those thanks would be for Pete Gillespie. It has been an honour to know you.
