Shocked and sad to hear the news from Sally. I had known Patrick for a number of years and kept in touch on and off by whats app. He was a happy person, so full of life and always someone you could speak to if things were down. I have read the other condolences and have learned more about him from these and how everyone respected him, and rejoiced in knowing him as I do to. I decided the best way to honour him after having a challenging health condition the last few years myself is to keep myself well and carry on swimming, as I know he would approve of that. Every swim I do since finding out the news I do a few lengths in thanks to him for being the person he was and is in memory. Sending heartfelt condolences to Sally and family.
