THE HALLMARK OF TRUE FRIENDSHIP, LOYALTY, DISCIPLINE AND DEDICATION.... You met our Dad Timothy Atanda Taiwo (TAT) exactly 41 years ago, both of you were part of the very 1st Set of NIPSS KURU JOS NIGERIA that gave you the honour of (mni). You had all distinguished yourselves in your chosen careers in the Public/Military Service of our great Nation Nigeria..... Since then, both of you had taken to each other especially coming from Abeokuta, Ogun State. You both wanted the best for the State and you immediately became friends that stood solidly from the onset..... Your words to our Dad on his 70th Birthday in October 2000.... "A true friend is someone who sees the pains in your eyes while everyone else believes the smile is on your face"... After NIPSS KURU JOS..... Along the line you moved your Family down to Abeokuta and ours was the 1st Family you bonded with.... Your friendship to our Dad was terrific without wavering one bit before he passed away in 2011. All along the way you became our Dad's Cheerleader in everything, extended to us the Children and Family. Both of you craved the same ideas, aspirations etc for our great Nation starting from Ogun State. You, Dad and Baba Chief Simeon Adebo started a formidable triangle and had the best think tank then, on issues relating to the way forward... You and our Dad reasoned that Agriculture is the first thing to imbibe as a Nation and you both delved into it after you both retired, without looking back.... It wasn't easy going on the farms but both of you never wavered. How about you sharing your Birthday Month April with our late Mom and all the Boys in the House, most especially your Birthday Date with one of us Oladele. You were always there to support us on all our achievements, birthdays, graduations, Weddings even during our grieving periods.... You started this with your choicest Pigs/Pork from the farm when Temitope got his Doctorate from MIT you were over the moon telling anybody that cares to listen..... You towered them all, as Chairman or the Chief Mourner when our dad went to be with the Lord. From dawn to dusk to daybreak , no time is too unholy for you at TAT's, we were so excited seeing you all and vice versa. Your friendship with our Dad T.A.T was unparalleled and unconditional. You were awesome and you both did things meticulously without been prompted. What manner of love is this? Our Mom Eli passed to glory and was buried in 2008, by 2009 our Dad's health had started failing woefully. I had gone into my Dad's room and found you doing chores for him, you intimated us and kept us informed on matters concerning him and our environment. You made our friends your friends and vice versa, to be part of a large family that you've started with TAT.... What about our Grandchildren? Of course you were called OJUJU GRAND PAAA...... Even after the demise of our Parents, you still made sure to be relevant at all times, being it in Nigeria or on the phone with us in Diaspora..... UNCLE, YOU'RE THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF FRIENDSHIP. UNCLE WE ALL LOVED YOU BUT GOD'S TIME IS THE BEST.. GOODNIGHT GREAT ADMIRAL ... YOUR LEGACY LIVES ON.... GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL YOU HAVE LEFT BEHIND. ESPECIALLY YOUR DOTING LOVEEEEE ADEOLA, YOUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN AND YOUR LOVING SIBLINGS. TEMITAYO TAIWO FOR THE T.A.TAIWO FAMILY IBARA GRA ABEOKUTA.... AUGUST 2020

I knew Rear Admiral Olufemi Olumide as Mrs. Adeola Olumide's best half. He dotted over her like they were newly married. Professionally, he was second to none. He staunchly believed in merit and never meddled into the affairs of the navy on a 'man know man' basis. Sweet rest, sir. Now in our hearts forever. May our good Lord comfort Grandma Olumide and family -Amen.
