I first met Niels when I was sent over to train him after he was hired for the BVBA Metrology role (6 years ago!) He was so kind, welcoming, and patient during our two weeks of training. He sent me home with tons of Belgian beer and chocolate to share with my family. After that we communicated frequently as I answered questions and made sure he had his feet under him. He gained experience and became greatly proficient in his role. All of his direct coworkers loved him and he counterparts around the world did too. He visited Coralville last year when I was on maternity leave and even brought me a baby gift. That's just the kind of guy he was. His absence in his professional role and his wonderful attitude will be felt deeply by all who came in contact with him at IDT. My heart is heavy, but I can't even imagine the weight of loss you are feeling. Please know that we are grieving with you and thinking about you.
