We have known Mrs Flannery since 2005 when Eddie was in Year 5 at Westgate, and our school association continued until Alexandra left in 2017.
Mrs Flannery really was the warmest, most approachable person, but we didn't realise just how selfless and genuinely caring she was until Freddie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2010, when he was in Year 4. We hope she knew how much her support and advice carried us through those first bewildering weeks and months, and how we loved to catch up with her long after Freddie had left Westgate, be it at PTA meetings, walking our dog in our shared neighbourhood or waiting in Clinic 7.
Mrs Flannery often struggled with her health but, no matter what, she always sparkled; a source of light and energy. A real inspiration.
Sending our love to Mr Flannery and little Rhys - we're all the richer for having known her.
Sarah, Peter, Edward, Freddie and Alexandra Wright.
