Mair Nesrul Zainal Abidin was a unique man. He served the WAITRO Secretariat from 2002-2018. Even when the Secretariat went from SIRIM to Fraunhofer and JITRI, Nesrul continued providing his support and insights. But he was so much more than that. Nesrul had the capability to make everyone feel instantly welcome and comfortable in a room, and within our Global Innovation Family. With his warm smile and beautiful laughter, he could really lighten up a room and give others a feeling of belonging. Nesrul, you have left us much too early. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and most of all your kindness with all of us for so many years, the memories of you will stay in our hearts forever. We are thinking of your family and friends and send them strength and love. You will be greatly missed. ʾinnā li-llāhi wa-ʾinna ʾilayhi rājiʿūn
