Judge Guerry was a loving, loyal, and devoted Husband, Father, and Friend. He served his community with integrity and honor. Born to Reverent Moultrie and Elizabeth Parker Guerry in Charleston, SC, he grew up in Sewanee, Tennessee. He served in the US Navy at the end of WWII, attended the University of Virginia for college and law school, and was appointed by Governor Godwin to serve as State Circuit Court Judge--a position he held for over 20 years.

Here is one of my favorite photos from Lee's wedding. I turned around and snapped Russ and Moultrie sitting in the back seat! I feel so fortunate to have known such a spectacular, kind, and joyous person as Judge Guerry!

Today I want to honor my father-in-law, Moultrie "Mo" Guerry, who passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 88yr old. He was a very proud father and grandfather, a devoted husband of 60 yrs, and a life long friend to many. We called him "the Big Judge", a title I know he savored after so many years of service on the bench. I will always love him for the southern gentleman he was. A true character. One of a kind. We celebrate his indomitable spirit and good humor, and will be ever thankful for the gift of his life with us.
