From Kamal Nathan - Sinnadurai Jeyaratnam Wilson (SJ Wilson) was a dear friend to me and my family, and our friendship lasted over sixty years across three countries. I first met Wilson in 1958 in Colombo. I was starting Engineering student at the University of Ceylon, and Wilson was in his second year of Mathematics. Our faculties were next to each other and we shared many meals together at the same restaurant. We became good friends and then room mates for four years. During this time we discovered a shared passion for tennis which lasted many decades. After University, our careers took us down different paths, but in 1971 we were reunited in Singapore working as academic staff for the National University of Singapore. Over the years, both our families grew, and with our children shared many adventures and celebrations together. One of my older son’s favourite memories are the annual Christmas celebrations with Wilson’s children including the much loved Christmas play. Even after our family migrated to Adelaide, Australia in the mid eighties, our friendship continued over the years when our family would return to Singapore for the Christmas holidays and visit Wilson’s family. When they moved to Sydney, Australia almost twenty years ago, we stayed in touch. It is hard to find the right words to remember an enduring friendship, but to have a loyal, kind and generous friend like Wilson keep returning into your life, over time and across countries, makes for a truly blessed life. We are sorry not to be able to come to Sydney and we send our condolences and love to Sulojini, Tharshini, Prakash and all their family.

We were so sad to hear about of our brother and brother in law. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Baba and children. Death is dreadful and tragic. But who has our life in Christ, death opens the door to eternal l8ife. May the God of all be the strength to the family at this difficult time . From Annai and machal and family
