Matthew, I will miss you more than you would ever believe. So many of us will. Your wisdom (as Jen said -- always three steps ahead of anyone else:)...your empathy...your energy...your humor and insatiable appetite for life, your commitment (travelling across three continents for our board meetings reguarly, whereever we may have held them). The folks with you now are damn lucky (for a start, their IQ probably went up a collective 10 fold), but so many of us are also priviledged to have had your contributions as a mentor, friend, board director and so much else. As Khehla wrote to me this morning, so many people in housing knew one or two or three parts of the picture...you could always bring a ziilion parts together so brilliantly -- almost not an institution today in that field that doesnt have your name on it, nor a person who crossed your path, who didnt learn from you.
