I was shocked and saddened to hear that Martin had passed away so suddenly. I worked with Martin in Highways over many years. He was a fountain of knowledge on NRSWA, and woe betide any of the Utilities (or anyone else) who crossed it. I do remember his reluctance to go to the presentation for his 25 year Service Award, said commemorative glasses eventually being delivered to his desk. He was a great character, with a good dry sense of humour, a very decent man, He will be much missed by many people. My condolences to his family.
