I first met Martin when I joined the Education Department from the Typing Bureau. Must have been about 1979. Martin was always helpful to me and understanding when I had to request Immediate information as I was then secretary to Annis Haywood - a force to be reckoned with. Whenever our paths crossed, Martin would always say hello. He was certainly a character and I am sure will be greatly missed.
