What can I say about Mark? He was possibly one of the most caring, loving, yet downright annoying people that i have ever known! What started off as me being his EA at McLaren and then Rivian, ended up with him being an honorary member of my family. My kids thought of him as uncle Mark and he was always there for me when I needed him. I saw his kids grow up, saw how proud he was as a Dad and definitely lived the highs and lows of his time at McLaren and Rivian. He pushed me to limits I didn't know I had and we bickered like an old married couple, but he always had my back and I loved him to bits. What I have read about others saying about him professionally on platforms like LinkedIn, I couldn't agree more - he pushed and pushed to get the absolute best out of people, seeing their strengths even when they couldn't, supporting them to believe in what they were doing and giving them an opportunity even when others wouldn't. He could be hard, but never without reason and the people and products that he touched all benefitted from having him there. The industry is mourning an unbelievable talent. What are best memories of Mark? There are too many to mention all of them, but requests for 6ft long cakes, seats on flights that don't exist, meetings with people that don't have time and everything in between all came my way and in reality these weren't requests, they had to happen! He was high maintenance and my god was he grumpy when he was hungry, but he was amazing to work with and a true true friend and now quite frankly I'm lost without him. Keep smiling Mark, keep being very cheeky and never let anyone else up there get you down. No doubt we'll meet again in another life. All my love, g x
