I was really shocked and sad to hear about Marian's untimely death. Although Benita and I have been friends of the family for many years, in the past 18 months I haven't seen much of the family - which really hits home when something like this happens.
I got to know the 'Marian and Janet' couple through Benita - and all of you have been an important part of our lives and the lives of our children ever since that time.
Marian was an important influence in the lives of many people. She will always be remembered for her contributions in the social justice field.
She was also a friend and loyal supporter of both of us and of our children. The pictures of her (and Janet) with their new grandchild are a great testament to how important this new addition to the family was to her - and to Janet.
You will be sorely missed old friend - I'm just sorry we didn't get a chance to say goodbye.
Rest in peace and think of us - as we will definitely think of you.
