I first met Max and Lydia MConkey when I was 17 , newly arrived from England to train as a nurse in Musgrave Park Hospital. The McConkeys became a second family to me.
Lydia was always so gracious, always beautiful in her heart as well as her dress. She loved a laugh and I loved her baking.
I can’t remember one time I heard her get angry or raise her voice she was a truly special lady and will be fondly remembered.
So many happy memories of the times spent with the family. A bonus for me I was introduced to Heather who became the best friend anyone could ever have.
Mrs McConkey had a great sense of humour and she and Fred always found something to laugh about when we would visit. We will never forget this amazing special lady.
