PAPA, From our childhood, you taught my siblings and I that within us lies enormous strength and we can amount to great things in life irrespective of gender. You taught us how to see life not with the eyes of self but with the eyes of humanity. You showed us what true friendship means. You exemplified to us that friendship sees weakness and inadequacies but corrects them with gentle calmness and truth. You taught us that riches and wealth does not define a man but godliness with contentment. You made us realise that though our actions and speeches may display naivety and stupidity, it has nothing to do with who we are. Though from a very lowly and humble background, you lived most of your lifetime impacting others. Your love was so pure that it emits light on everyone that crossed your path. You were indeed a blessing to your generation and have left a legacy for even generations unborn. Today I may have tears in my eyes but more than anything else I am grateful to Almighty GOD that I came into existence from the bowels of such a great man. It may be difficult to live with the reality that I could never talk with you again or even hug you as we always do but I sure find solace in the truth that you are in the place of absolute rest. You are and will be unforgettable. I love you now and will love you forever. SLEEP ON MY FATHER, SLEEP ON MY MENTOR, SLEEP ON MY FRIEND, SLEEP ON MY HERO. IT’S YOUR MOMENT OF PERFECT REST.
