Christine, I only met Kye this summer, in what turned out to be the last months of his all too short life, but I could tell right away that he was a kind and gentle soul, as well as brilliant and courageous. I was so impressed by how he managed to find work during the pandemic, not once but twice and while struggling with his illness. I will always remember the last time I saw Kye, in the late fall. He joined us for one of your delicious dinners. He looked well. We ate and enjoyed some laughs before he retreated to his room. It was a nice occasion, one which I would have liked very much to repeat. I was just beginning to get to know Kye. I really wish I could have known him longer. Through your stories and his friends’ remembrances, I am learning about who he was, all that he accomplished, and how he touched so many lives. One thing I know for sure is that Kye loved you so much, and you him. The two of you had a beautiful bond that will never be broken. He was clearly a wonderful son and a good human being. I know he made you proud and so very happy. Rest In Peace, Kye.
