It was my great pleasure to work with Kimberley at the University of Sydney. Kimberley arrived as a post-doctoral specialist in Old Norse, runes, and medieval love tokens, but what really showcased the grace, empathy, and generosity she brought to her work was the project she co-ordinated with Gabe Watts in Wollongong, south of Sydney, entitled ‘Treasured Possessions’. It began as an outreach on the history of emotions to socially isolated seniors in Dapto, an economically depressed area of regional NSW, and ended up creating a powerful social network that forged a sense of community, empowering people and validating their emotional histories. I would encourage everyone to read Kimberley’s write-up of this project for a sense of her selflessness and kindness. My deep condolences to her family and friends.
