Kevan Mulcahey

March 22, 1959 - January 6, 2021

Kevan has been part of the fabric of Kantar for almost 40 years having spent time at AGB, the precursor to Worldpanel before having stints at a brewery and other research agencies before returning to Kantar in 1990. For many years Kevan had run the Alcohol then Lifestyle teams in Worldpanel. Kevan still has many friends in the business with whom he kept regular contact. An incredibly affable, generous, kind and thoughtful man he will always ask after others before himself. A lover of pedigree cats, single malt whiskey, esoteric rum brands, music on vinyl, motor racing, historic cars, Iceland [!] and Everton football club he leaves behind devastated friends and family, wonderful memories and an enduring business legacy.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Kevan. My sincere condolences to Kate and the children. Kevan recruited me into my first “proper” job after university to work in the Drinks division at PAS (1996). I never looked back and we worked together until 2007. I remember soon after starting he explained that if I saw him running around like a headless chicken that’s him dealing with stress! And that we all deal with it in our own ways. It was very true! He was the one who really taught me how to present to clients and deal with different and sometimes very difficult situations. I had to practise presenting many times in front of him where he would change the scenario each time and make it really difficult for me..like walking around the room opening and closing windows, yawning and looking bored etc etc We spent a lot of time chatting on our many long drives up the M1 to our drinks clients. There was rarely a silent moment. We both liked to chat! My dad died during the time I worked with Kevan and I will never forget how he looked after me in work and allowed me to talk to him whenever I needed to. He was always there for me and our team. Kevan was so very kind, big hearted, silly, sometimes infuriating, but someone that had a big impact on my working career. I will never forget him. Thanks Kevan x
