Brave, courageous, dignified, private, generous, loving, creative, funny, real, irreplaceable. All words to describe the Kate we know. Really she is a combination of the best in Cliff and Gill and is the daughter they have always been so proud of which makes her loss so much more agonising and painful. I think we could fill a book with some of our shared memories, like us all turning blue with cold on an open top bus at night in New York (despite two pairs of cashmere lined gloves, hat, scarf etc) or when Kate had to stop Gill taking a 12 year old Eleri into a sex shop... Gill thought it was a fancy dress shop!!! Or Gill and Kate sitting on the ends of the bed into the night waiting for us when they lost us in New York and the four of us hugging with happiness and relief that we were OK. I can hear the "Oh Mum" Kate said when Gill wore a pair of trousers with one leg shorter than the other and didn't notice! I won't forget how precious Kate was to Gill and Cliff, how they were the best of friends and parents to her and how they will struggle to fill the void left in their lives. Kate's death is earth shattering for us all but none more so than for Gill and Cliff. We are so sorry. Kate was special and she will stay young and free and special in out memories.
