Kate Pitt

March 23, 1965 - January 1, 2022

Kate was an extremely well-liked and respected colleague throughout the 34 years that she worked with the FCA and our wider regulatory family. Kate contributed greatly to some of the highest profile initiatives across our organisation and worked tirelessly to strengthen our defences preventing the wrong firms and individuals from being able to cause harm to UK consumers. Kate was passionate about her work and protecting consumers, and she imbued that passion among those around her to whom she was a valued and inspiring colleague, source of support and friend. She will be fondly remembered as someone who always had time for others, for the fun she brought and for her playful sense of humour. Kate will be deeply missed.

I first met Kate as one of our Ways of Working Managers in 2017 and we worked together as part of this group for the next 2 years, meeting for a 2 hour workshop every month. This was a group of Managers who put themselves forward to shake things up about how we worked at the FCA as a result of our move to Stratford. Kate was a real champion of the changes and a vocal member of the group. She embraced her role of coming up with new and sometimes radical ideas! She was committed to influencing her team to make the changes and provided great challenge and support to me and our small team throughout the move. Afterwards she always had time for a catch up and was one of those people that I genuinely enjoyed bumping into. A really big loss for us at the FCA. Sending her family and friends heartfelt condolences at this very difficult time. Lauren
